A word from our CEO
I have just returned from Chicago where I attended the GLS premier event. One of the top-rated speakers was a restauranteur, Will Guidara. He shared on the value of unreasonable hospitality and it made me think… When was the last time I experienced good, radical or even unreasonable hospitality? Even better, when did I last demonstrate this kind of hospitality?
We host a Connect Group in our home each month. It’s a group that are all connected to the local church we attend. We have people from all walks of life and with varied experiences, however, when we come together we share food and laughter and deeply connect. My goal would be to create a safe, warm place where those in the group can come and find security and a place to share deeply. It’s not about the food (often I don’t cook but everyone brings a plate to share) and it’s not about how clean the floors are. It’s about the connection and the welcome. I always keep in mind: people will not remember what you say as much as how you make them feel.
