Leading with Resilience and Hope – Reflections from Rwanda

with John Robertson | CEO | Global Leadership Network Australia & New Zealand
Last month I had the privilege of travelling to Rwanda with World Vision. It was a deeply moving experience. Thirty years on from the genocide, the impact is still profoundly real, yet what struck me most was the extraordinary resilience and determination of leaders who have walked their communities out of trauma and devastation into a vision of peace and hope.

True leadership is never easy – but in Rwanda I witnessed leaders who embody what it means to reconcile, persevere, and build a future when the past seems overwhelming. It’s a lesson for all of us: leadership is not only about strategy, but about courage, healing, and the relentless pursuit of a better future.

At GLS25, we’re excited to share a special video of this Rwandan experience so that you and your teams can be inspired by what leadership looks like in the most challenging of circumstances bringing hope to whole communities.

A quick reminder: some GLS Premier Host Sites are already approaching capacity, and Early Bird pricing ends 30 September. If you haven’t yet secured your spot, now’s the time to register and be part of this incredible leadership experience.
