Pat Gelsinger

CEO, Intel Corporation

Patrick (Pat) Gelsinger is chief executive officer of Intel Corporation and serves on its board of directors. He has more than four decades of technology leadership and experience driving innovation, with 30 of those years serving in Intel engineering and executive roles.

Before rejoining Intel in February 2021, Gelsinger was CEO of VMware. In that role, he transformed VMware into a recognized global leader in cloud infrastructure, enterprise mobility and cybersecurity – almost tripling the company’s annual revenues. Gelsinger was also ranked the top CEO in America in 2019 in the annual employee survey by Glassdoor. Prior to joining VMware in 2012, Gelsinger was president and chief operating officer of EMC’s Information Infrastructure Products business, overseeing engineering and operations for information storage, data computing, backup and recovery, RSA security and enterprise solutions.

Gelsinger began his career in 1979 at Intel, becoming its first chief technology officer, and serving as senior vice president and the general manager of the Digital Enterprise Group. He managed the creation of key industry technologies like USB and Wi-Fi. He was the architect of the original 80486 processor, led 14 microprocessor programs and played key roles in the Intel® Core™ and Intel® Xeon® processor families, leading to Intel becoming the world’s preeminent microprocessor supplier.

Gelsinger earned several degrees in electrical engineering: an associate degree from Lincoln Technical Institute, a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree from Stanford University. He holds eight patents in the areas of VLSI design, computer architecture and communications, is an IEEE Fellow, and serves as a member of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
Gelsinger is also a published author and speaks frequently on faith, work, and philanthropy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General

Does everyone attending GLS23 require their own ticket?

Yes. We ask that you honour our request that every person who attends GLS23 must be an individual ticketholder. This ensures our ongoing viability as a not-for-profit and allows us to continue to offer access to the Summit at a very affordable price. 

Do I get access to Video-on-Demand?

Yes, all who register for GLS23 (Online, Local or Premier) will receive 7-days VOD access provided they supply their email address in our registration system. This will be sent out to everyone at the same time in late November irrespective of which event they attend.

How do I update each person's details in my group booking?

When you purchased your registrations, you received a confirmation/receipt email. On this email there are links to manage and update your registrations.  

Please contact info@globalleadership.org.au if you need this email to be resent.

Who informs my group?

The Group Leader will receive correspondence from GLNA which in turn they will communicate to their group.

Are concession rates available?

No. We have intentionally reduced the ticket price for GLS23 to enable more people than ever to experience the Summit.

Can I cancel my GLS ticket?

No, all GLS23 registrations are non-refundable.

What can I do to best support the GLS and the Global Leadership Network Australia and New Zealand?

Join us for GLS23, gift a ticket to a friend who has never attended before, and actively promote the Summit among your networks – it’s never been more affordable or easy to attend!

GLS Online

When will I receive my unique link to view GLS Online?

An email will be sent to the email address given at time of registration, in the days prior to the event date. Please make sure you update us with any change to you or your teams email addresses.

What are the start/finish and session times for GLS Online?

The exact schedule will be published in the GLS Notebook, which will be distributed to those registered prior to the start of the event.

What does my GLS Online registration include?

  • Unique event watch link for GLS Online. 
  • GLS23 Digital Notebook 
  • 7-days Video-on-Demand (end of November)

Can I transfer from one GLS Online date to another?

Yes, however, you must do so at least two weeks from the event date that you have registered for. Please email info@globalleadership.org.au with the request. NOTE: All tickets in your group must attend the same event date and cannot be split up.

GLS Local

What are the start/finish and session times for GLS Local?

This will be up to your Local Host, and each site will vary on how they deliver the GLS Local. Most groups will want to host a one-day event however, you could choose to hold two half-days, several evenings (spread over multiple weeks), or take longer discussion times and host your Summit across two-days. 

As Group Leader, you’ll just need to communicate these details directly with those who’ve registered for your event. 

 

What does my GLS Local registration include?

GLS Local Group Leader receives:

  • Marketing, Event and Production Kits
  • GLS23 programming content to run your GLS Local
  • Real-time access to Brushfire ticketing updates
  • Ongoing Support from our GLNA team

Every individual registration includes:

  • GLS23 Digital Notebook

Will there be catering at the GLS Local?

This will be up to your GLS Local Host and they will communicate any details with you directly. GLS Local Hosts can choose to make catering arrangements direct with their group members, and accept payment on the day or beforehand through their own preferred payment gateway.

How long do I have to host my GLS Local?

Your Summit must be held during a 6-week period from 6 October – 19 November 2023.

When will I receive the programming content?

The GLS Local Group Leader will receive all pre-recorded speaker and event content (4 video session files) on 5 October 2023.

Can I invite others to register themselves and join my GLS Local? Can I communicate directly with my group members?

Yes! As a GLS Local host, we will provide you access to our Brushfire registration portal, allowing for greater automation and empowering you to communicate directly with your group delegates.
  • Access to your real-time registration list
  • Ability to email those in your group (e.g. for parking or catering requirements)
  • Share your group name (or unique URL) to have others join

Are there any minimum requirements to become a GLS Local Host?

  • Minimum group size of 10 people or more.
  • All participants need to register via our website.
  • Event must be held during a 6-week period from 6 October – 19 November 2022.
  • Large screen or method of projection is essential so your participants can comfortably watch and engage with the GLS speakers.
  • Standard broadband internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to stream large video files.
  • Start/finish/break times are fully flexible.
  • May be held as a one-day event or across multiple days or sessions.
  • Live music and catering are optional.

GLS Premier

What does my GLS Premier registration include?

  • Access to attend one of our GLS Premier Host Sites 
  • Gather with over 100 leaders from your community  
  • Printed GLS23 Notebook (and a digital version)  
  • Full catering for the 1-day event (lunch plus morning and afternoon teas)

What are the start/finish and session times for GLS Premier?

The program will start at 9am and conclude by 5pm.
